A Friendly Visit by the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen Ming-yeung
We are much privileged to have the Secretary for Education, Mr Michael Suen M.Y. as our honorable guest on 12 November, 2009. Despite his short stay in CCH, Mr Suen participated in various activities that afternoon in order to gain a deeper understanding of local educational issues. He first observed a Liberal Studies class in Honest 4 for a first-hand experience of how the New Senior Secondary curriculum is implemented. He then shared with the Principal and teachers on other important educational issues such as small-class teaching and anti-drug education. Our student representatives (Appendix 1) also seized the opportunity to share with Mr Suen their school life in CCH. The student journalists of our school newsletter were fortunate to have the chance to report this important event for fellow schoolmates. (Appendix 2) Their report will be published in the forthcoming issue of the school newsletter. Finally, to express our gratitude to this honorable guest, a portrait of Mr Suen drawn by our students was presented as the school souvenir to the Secretary for Education. (Appendix 3)
The Academic Prize-giving Ceremony 2009-10 was held on Tuesday, 9 February 2010 at our school hall. Professor MAK King Sang Ricardo, Head and Professor, Department of History, The Hong Kong Baptist University, was invited to be our Guest of Honour. At the Ceremony, Professor Mak also gave a sharing to encourage our students.
