As there is an increasing rate of people suffering from cancer, more people get to know more about its cause. The traditional concept of cancer is that it is a cellular disease, but now, a new concept is introduced that cancer not only contains cancer cells but also the activated normal cells. Moreover, it is found that the inflammation and microenvironment promote the development of cancer cells. Although Hong Kong has put a lot of effort on cancer researches with excellent medical services, once people are found to have cancer, it is already in the later stage and the survival ratio becomes very low. Therefore, Hong Kong should invest more medicines to help the patients.

Recently, more companies which claim to keep the stem cells have been set up. Most of them said stem cells can protect our health. However, from the talk we knew that the function of stem cells are still in research level and we cannot use them on patients. Also, using embryonic stem cells has some drawbacks that it may cause the alloimmunity and formation of tetratoma. Nevertheless, stem cells are important for curing blood cancer by transplantation. As there are some benefits on the stem cells, scientist should spent more time on doing research so that stem cells can be used in various ways in the future.
