To cultivate the physical fitness, perseverance, and team spirit of students and teachers, our school held a lively and meaningful Long Distance Running Day at the Shatin Sports Ground on February 6. The preparations before the event and the competition on the day itself showcased the active participation and positive attitude of both students and teachers. Students took this opportunity to challenge themselves, strengthen their will, and promote communication and support among peers and teachers.
A week before Long-Distance Running Day, the school organized a preparation week, where morning runs were held each day. This allowed students and teachers to gradually adjust their physical fitness and competition pace while fostering a supportive atmosphere. Over the preparation period, approximately 1,100 students and teachers participated in the morning runs. On Long-Distance Running Day, there were two major events: the inter-class field competition and the inter-house Shing Mun River cross-country race, with a total of 160 participants in the cross-country race.
Whether during the morning runs in the preparation week or on the day of the Long Distance Running events, the enthusiasm and commitment of our school’s students and teachers towards sports activities were evident. Throughout the competitions, from inter-class to inter-house, students encouraged each other, fully demonstrating the spirit of sportsmanship.
