UK BETT STEAM Exchange Tour 2025-2026

Our school is committed to promoting STEAM education and activities, enabling students to fully develop their STEAM potential, enhance their technology application skills, and cultivate creative thinking. In order to provide more diverse learning opportunities, this year, the STEAM Incentive Scheme sponsored two students who excelled in STEAM and overall performance to participate in the UK BETT STEAM Exchange Tour organised by AiTLE (Association of Information Technology Education Leaders) from 17 to 25 January 2026. The participating students were Shek Man Tik from Loyal 4 and Chung Tak Hin from Courageous 5.

Exchange Tour Introduction
The exchange tour focused on educational technology. The two students visited Oxford University, attended the Apple Intelligence workshop, and received a professional guided tour at the British Museum, gaining an in-depth understanding of cultural history. They then participated in BETT UK, the largest educational technology exhibition in the UK. They explored various latest educational technology products and exhibits from schools around the world, and successfully displayed their own innovative project “ReadyGuard”. They exchanged ideas with education professionals from across the globe, showcasing the creative technology achievements of Hong Kong secondary students.

“ReadyGuard” Project Introduction

“ReadyGuard” is an intelligent home-departure management system built on Internet of Things (IoT) technology. It features five key characteristics: integrated storage and retrieval, smart departure trigger, app synchronisation, enhanced safety and automation, and data-driven life management. The students developed the prototype using microcontroller programming. Users simply need to grab their essentials and press a button to be fully prepared and ready to leave with peace of mind; the system will automatically confirm the items, synchronise the daily schedule, and activate smart home automation, fully demonstrating the students’ creativity and practical skills in IoT applications.

City Exploration
The two students participated in London city sightseeing and in-depth tours. They visited the Science Museum to learn about the latest technological developments, and went to Portobello Road Market and Notting Hill to experience traditional British markets and unique local culture, enriching the trip with diverse experiences.

Through this trip, the two students not only improved their English communication and cross-cultural exchange skills, but also broadened their international perspectives and gained deeper insight into the latest developments in global educational technology. We look forward to them bringing their learning back to school and injecting new momentum into our STEAM education!
