In early April this year, sixteen teachers and students from our school traveled to Kinmen via Xiamen to conduct a thematic study on the local residents' lifestyle. To understand Kinmen's architectural heritage conservation efforts, they observed Western-style buildings constructed by Minnan locals and returning overseas Chinese, learning how these structures have been revitalized. On the final day, the group visited the awe-inspiring Zhaishan Tunnel and explored the Xiamen Botanical Garden in Xiamen. There, they listened to conservation volunteers share Xiamen's recent achievements in preservation, gaining insight into balancing urban development with natural conservation.
